French Idol “Nouvelle Star” - 法国超级男声女声

Not being a fan of French Idol “Nouvelle Star“, We got up at 7:30 on a Saturday morning, waited in the cold wind in front of the Trianon Theatre in the 18ème arrondissement (18th district, there’re 20 in all in Paris), near Sacré Coeur, for an hour, just for the Idols selection recording of the new season. Plus one hour’s waiting on the stairs inside, and another one hour in the auditorium waiting for the casting to show up, I couldn’t help but wonder, how badly do we want to be seen on M6 clapping hands with a silly smile among a bunch of strangers who act exactly like us ? We don’t even watch TV ! Steph probably won’t ask himself this question coz I dragged him there, poor thing…

从来不看《新偶像》的我们，在一个星期六的早上7点半从床上爬起来，哆哆嗦嗦地在18区(巴黎有20个区)圣心大教堂附近的的Théâtre Trianon门前等候了一个小时，就为了看新季度的新偶像资格赛。加上楼道里一个小时和观众席上等待比赛选手出场的一个小时，我忍不住想，靠，难道我们就那么想在电视上露个脸？我们又不看电视。。。可怜的小猫，被我拖来。。。

The singing part was actually not bad. Each candidate can choose one song out of five options to perform the short version. The list I remembered so far was : “Superbus - Butterfly“, “Calogero - Pomme C“, “Christophe Willem - Jacques a dit“, “Axel Bauer&Zazie - A ma place“. (Forgot the last one since nobody picked it.) They all have nice voices except one girl was really terrible, it was like the only thing she wanted to impress the jury was her hair. There was one brave disabled girl who also stepped onto the stage, it was pity that at the second attempt she still couldn’t remember many of the lyrics. All of them tried to personalized their song, which was also good for us who had to listen to those songs again and again. Seriously…seriously….how badly ???

老实讲呢，这些人唱的还是可以的。每个选手可以从5首选定曲目中挑一首来表演。就我现在记得的这些歌分别是： “Superbus - Butterfly“, “Calogero - Pomme C“, “Christophe Willem - Jacques a dit“, “Axel Bauer&Zazie - A ma place“. (还有一首歌忘记了，因为没人唱。) 这些人的嗓子都还行，除了有一个女的实在很可笑，从头到底都在撂头发，大概自己也知道唱的太难听，要分散人家注意力。选手其中有一个残疾女孩，可惜她试了两遍都唱得忘词，勇敢倒是蛮勇敢的。选手们大多用自己的唱法表演了选择的曲目，对我们这些反反复复听这几首歌的观众来说还算是仁慈。哎。。。就为了露个脸。。。

I was once told that every French boy and girl wants to be sing star, yet public karaoke is not in the French culture, so Singstar found their market in Europe and North America, rather than in the developper’s own country. But in my case, an asian girl in France, when the whole “nouvelle star” thing gravely aroused my desire to sing karaoke, I’m already glad to have Singstar at home.

曾经有人跟我说，法国的男男女女都做梦都想当歌星，但法国人放了学下了班却不会去唱卡拉OK的。也许就是这样让Singstar在欧洲和北美找到了开发市场，这种东西在亚洲肯定不会畅销。可怜我这种情况，一个被套在法国的亚洲女孩，新偶像强烈既激起了我唱卡拉OK的欲望，所以家里有个Singstar我已经很满足了。
